Our methodology
To conduct this 2026 study, we:
- Studied each company's articles of association to identify its purpose and its status as a company with a mission;
- List of B Corp® certifications and detailed scores by criterion;
- Conducted qualitative interviews with fifteen FT120 startups to document their concrete social and environmental approaches;
- Move away from initiatives based solely on corporate communications to focus on concrete actions.
Two main types of commitment have been identified:
- High-impact business initiatives: directly integrating social and environmental issues into core business operations;
- Internal transformations: governance, HR practices, inclusion, operational efficiency.
A demanding and realistic overview of the level of commitment of French Tech startups.
